In 1944, Imam Sultan Muhammad changed the name of Recreation Club Institute into the Ismailia Association for India. Ali Muhammad Macklai was appointed its President with Alijah Rajab Ali Muhammad Dandawala as Vice-President and Itmadi Rehmatuallah Virjee as Hon. Secretary. Thus, the Ismailia Recreation Club was the progenitor of the Ismailia Association. In view of his long selfless services, the Imam granted the titles of Huzur Wazir (minister in attendance) and Commander in Chief to Ali Muhammad Macklai.

The Imam intended to extend the activities of the Ismailia Association beyond the confine of India. The ball was set rolling at the Ismaili Mission Conference held in Dar-es-Salem on July 20, 1945, wherein the Imam insisted to the leaders of Nairobi that, “You must establish an Ismailia Association similar to the one in Bombay. Mr. Macklai, the President of the Ismailia Association in Bombay, has served the community, and in doing so, he spread the light of the Ismaili faith. His name shall forever be remembered in history on account of his services.”

Hence, the All-Africa Ismailia Association came into existence in 1946 with Count Muhammad Ali Dhalla as President and Wazir Ramzan Ali Dossa as Hon. Secretary. Its headquarters was first in Nairobi, then Mombasa.

Ali Muhammad Macklai retired in 1946 from the Ismailia Association for India. In February, 1948, the Imam summoned Ali Muhammad Macklai in Africa. The Imam arrived in Nairobi on August 1, 1948. On that occasion, the Imam discussed with him about the Constitution. He then went to Dar-es-Salam, while the Imam arrived in Mombasa and Zanzibar, and reached Dar-es-Salam, where he presented a draft of the Constitution to the Imam. Art’s Impact On Society

Art is an extremely private experience, yet, it is meant to be shared with the public. Society, as a whole, examines the art produced and has the right to approve, disapprove, acknowledge, ignore, praise and abuse it. The public or society has not remained constant over the years. In the time of the Renaissance, for example, only a select few were “society.” They commissioned art, were patrons of the arts and their artists. Today, almost anyone can share in the experience of art. They can attempt to create, view and act as a critic.

Does art make the world a better place, or is it quite useless? This is a very ancient riddle, and no one has solved it yet. A similar question – has art truly had any impact upon society? Has it fashioned or molded minds? Has it shaped opinions and altered how people feel or think? Is it practicable in or relevant to society and its individuals’ daily lives?

Art reflects life. It is a portrait of history, whether it is history of the current moment or an event in the past or something of the imagination. Art has captured an event, clarifying its existence and representation to society. The portraits of the French Revolution by David, Benjamin West’s portrayal of the death of General Wolfe and Poussin’s recreation of the Rape of the Sabine Women all strive to provide a version of historical events. Society, in turn, can accept or reject these portrayals of true events. Sometimes, as in the case of Goya’s depiction of the French behavior during their conquest of Spain, art inspires a deep hatred of a certain nationality.

Art encapsulate a country’s culture during that time period. Rembrandt, Rousseau, Monet, Hogarth, Whistler, Jan Steen, Frans Hal and Breughel depict for their generation the world as they see it. They affect future society by providing concise, if sometimes imaginative, depictions of daily life. Brughel the Elder paints peasants, Jean Baptiste depicts lower-class life and Daumier’s subjects in “The Third Class Carriage” are not the
lofty work of Gainsborough. The wit and graphicness of Hogarth in “The Rake’s Progress” or the imposing work of Thomas Eakins’ “The Gross Clinic” provide historians with clues and pictures to a vastly different way of life. Jan Steen’s “The Eve of St. Nicholas” provides a way to uncover how people spent Christmas in the early 17th century in the Netherlands.

Art has encouraged feelings of patriotism and national pride. Goya’s, “The Third of May, 1808,” the Americans portrayal of their revolution and countless other artists across the centuries have provided an impact extending beyond the work. Depictions of Washington crossing the Delaware, and portraits of battlefields, at home and abroad, are scenes that inspire society. These works also remind the public of their past, what has been sacrificed or accomplished and what they can aspire to in the present or future.

Artwork has also provided clues to lives long over and species since disappeared. Holstein provides us with portraits of people long dead e.g. Henry VIII, Erasmus of Rotterdam, as Rubens does with his painting of Marie de’ Medici. Goya’s masterful and psychologically rich work “The Family of Charles IV” lays bare the natures and relationships of this royal family for all of society to view. Art has also provided examples of garden styles, structures to be imitated and fashions to follow.

Artwork has allowed us to glimpse lives and lifestyles. At one time, dressmakers in the colonies used the artwork found in magazines and depicted in reproductions of paintings to create the latest in fashionable clothing. Art shaped a fashionable society where none had existed before. It allowed the Americans to be as up-to-date as their European counterparts. In the same manner, George Caleb Bingham with his painting “Fur Traders on the Mississippi” allowed Europeans a glimpse of another life. The art works by the Jewish artists trapped in the concentration camps of World War II preserve for all time the horrors of war and the inhumanity inflicted by one race upon another. Art has also been a medium to help spread a culture. Art of propaganda during war is a classic example. Posters urge people to support their troops. Marketing ploys ask consumers to buy locally or purchase a specific product. Pop art is probably one of the most influential societal tools of the modern and post-modern age. The best possible example is Any Warhol. His Campbell Soup Cans are now icons.

Art has stirred the imagination of all nations from the earliest time. It has helped roused patriotic fervor, brought new ideas and culture to light, raised questions and rewritten or reinterpreted historical events. Art has provided clues to the past and advanced questions about the future. Its impact continues to be felt emotionally. For, above all, art touches us beyond the intellect, reaching down into society’s emotional core. In the end, the greatest impact of art is its ability to provide us with the truth about the world seen through the eye of an artist.

Contemporary Art Reproductions Of Popular Artists

Plenty of people will happily accept that they really do adore art, but they feel that it must be for other people to own because it is incredibly expensive for the most part. The truth is, fine art is very hot right now and not most of us might truly afford to own it because the amount of cash it would likely take is sometimes more, even for a single piece, than you would likely spend on an exceptional car or a brand new residence. Today, people will even pay thousands and thousands of dollars for work from a new artist who is unknown but shows promise. Most people adore the work of contemporary art masters such as Dali or Picasso, but they would readily never be able to afford what it costs to own one of these works. In reality, some of these paintings by the ultimate painters on the planet are so costly that there are but a dozen or so people who could ever hope to have the amount of riches it would likely require to own even a single work. Today, a lot of people have found ways to own works of modern art that are available at a price an average individual could certainly afford, but there is a solution involved.

One perception that can help you own works that are from the masters is knowing that even the museums who have works of art from these amazing men are not generally going to be owning actual originals by these painters. As incredible as that sounds, it really is true that these museums use reproductions that show the work but are not the original itself. The alternative to making art more available to everyone is to make art reproductions which are perfect copies of great contemporary art master pieces and everybody may then enjoy them. These are not some glossy poster like copies, what they are is stroke by stroke recreations of incredible paintings that have all the same colors, textures and other details recreated perfectly for people to enjoy. The distinction between a hand painted copy and one made with simply printing is huge so if you desire the true experience, you go for that extra work that matters.

Owning fine art is a genuine treat and the beauty is that it goes past basically a decorative element in your home because it is something more than that. The most remarkable oil paintings are treasures that may be valued for generations. If you have ever met anybody who owns a great painting, they might tell you that the experience only gets better with time.

A Brief History of Recreational Parks

Parks are large outdoor recreation areas. The earliest parks were created for the amusement of Middle Eastern kings and their courts. Such royal parks often contained enclosed hunting grounds and were shaped by riding paths and shelters. Parks often served a more social function in more democratic societies, such as the city states of Ancient Greece. Parks were used by citizens to socialize, conduct athlete’s training, and perform religious rituals. Parks in ancient Greece often contained beautiful sculptures of gods and goddesses.

In Medieval Europe, private parks were often built next to castles and contained ponds, manicured lawns, and mazes of trimmed bushes. Parks during post-Renaissance times were built under the patronage of royalty and political figures. These parks were often part of elaborate palatial complexes and include Versailles in France, Schnbrunn Palace in Vienna, and El Escorial in Spain.

Such royal parks contained extensive woods, raised galleries, priceless sculptures, and fountains. They also had aviaries and cages that contained wild animals. Opulent private parks were often the playgrounds of European queens and empresses. Examples of such parks include the fabled Petit Trianon built for Marie Antoinette, as well as Malmaison which was constructed in the reign of Empress Josephine.

Modern parks are an integral part of urban development and service an entire community rather than a privileged elite. Present day parks may contain extensive woods, flora and fauna, ponds and fountains, as well as various recreation areas such as outdoor theaters, zoos, concert shells, concession areas for dining and picnics, sports grounds and stadiums, jogging and walking paths, and open areas for summer events in denver.

Urban parks in many cities are usually owned and maintained by a local government. Such parks often resemble savannas and open woodlands as many city dwellers find such environments relaxing. Grass in open areas that host summer events in denver is often kept short to discourage insects and pests from breeding. This also encourages people to have picnics and sports games. Trees are chosen for their aesthetic appeal and their ability to provide plenty of shade.

The first public park was said to be the Alameda de Hrcules in Seville, Spain. It was built in 1574 and contained an urban garden and park which facilitated summer events in denver. Famous parks in the modern world include Central Park in New York City and Regents Park in London.
